My name is Steve MacDonald. I am a member of the CCAS (Christian Comic Arts Society). I enjoy comics, Christian comics in general, but I have a greater passion for evangelism, and am deeply concerned about the content in some Christian-created comics. Sometimes it is simply the perceived audience or art that I have a problem with, and these are mostly not very important. When the content is incorrect or inaccurate, though, I feel as though the reader should be made conscious of that, especially in a potentially evangelistic offering. This is where my main focus will be, although if the book falls apart on one of the other elements I'll be the first one to bring that up as well - a great story told in horrible pictures doesn't do much for the story.
The main things that I call into question as a Christian are the Trinity (Father, Son [Jesus Christ] and the Holy Spirit), the infallibility of the Word of God, and the Salvation message (focusing on the Law, sin, the penalty for transgression of the Law, Christ as the perfect and only Sacrifice for sin, the Atonement, God's Grace, repentence, and faith in Christ as Savior and Lord). Any questions about that, please ask.
I have extensive knowledge and resources concerning evangelism, apologetics, cults, the occult and church history. I also have studied comics and sequential art as well as story theory, writing and editing.
Thank you for your time. Please let me know if you have any questions not answered here. Also, please forward this to any other Christian comic creator or publisher who you think might like to include it in their publications.
